The Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program has been acknowledged with a ‘Highly Commended’ at the 2021 International Green Gown Awards for the meaningful impact this program has achieved in the community.
Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered was recognised in the Benefitting Society category. This category captures the powerful and innovative ways education institutions are realising their purpose in today’s society to benefit the lives of individuals, communities and wider society.
Professor Phil Morgan (project lead) was honoured to be recognised by an organisation that aligns so closely with the University’s core values.
“To benefit society is a goal that anchors us as an institution. Our team are a proud example of this, working collaboratively and tirelessly to develop their program to improve the lives of families across the globe,” Philip said.
The International Green Gown Awards acknowledges exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by the world's universities and colleges, and put every learning institution at the heart of delivering the UN Global Sustainability Goals.
Open to any university or college across the world, these awards are supported by the United Nations Environment Program and administered by the EAUC - Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education.
