The future is bright for women and indigenous communities around the FIBA women’s Basketball World Cup 2022
6 May 2021
In May 2021, Prof. Phil Morgan and project manager Ms Emma Pollock were thrilled to attend the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2022 celebration of the '500 days to go milestone' along with the NSW Office of Sport and champions of the game, Lauren Jackson and Katie-Rae Ebzery.
Here it was announced that the NSW Government will invest $1 Million into legacy initiatives over the next three years to support basketball development, female-specific participation programs, female leadership programs, indigenous participation programs as well as better access to play and participate in basketball for residents in regional and remote areas of New South Wales.
We are excited to report that Daughters & Dads Basketball has been named as one of the key NSW legacy program initiatives in collaboration with Basketball NSW and the NSW Office of Sport.
