Program Overview

Classic Program

Over nine weeks, fathers and daughters attend weekly 90 minute sessions of the Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program together. Sessions usually run from 5.45pm - 7.15pm on a week night during the school term.

Each Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered session includes:

  1. 15-minute education session with fathers and daughters together
  2. 30-minute education session for fathers and daughters conducted separately
  3. 45-minute practical session where fathers and daughters participate together

Mothers and siblings are also invited to attend one of the Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered sessions and participate together as a family.

 

Explorer Program (NSW Office of Sport programs only)

Over six weeks, fathers and daughters attend weekly 90 minute sessions of the Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program together.  The program follows a similar structure to the Classic program for the first six weeks.

The program concludes with a weekend overnight camp at an Office of Sport, Sport and Recreation Centre, where daughters and dads participate in traditional camping and adventure activities in addition to completing theory and practical components of the program. 

 

Weekender Program (NSW Office of Sport programs only)

Fathers and daughters attend the Daughters and Dads Active and Empowered program, compressed into a two night weekend stay at an Office of Sport, Sport and Recreation centre.

Daughters and dads experience all practical and theory sessions delivered in the Classic and Explorer programs, as well as traditional camping and adventure activities.
